Volunteers wanted for: Edmonton WinterLight 2010 Festival

Our club has beed asked to participate with the adventure trail of the Winter Lights festival of the City of Edmonton. A great way to contribute to our community, generate publicity, and raise awareness about the Alpine Club and the Edmonton section of the club.

We thought we could help kids climb and rappel a static line using prusiks/cams, on a reasonably steep slope.

We need volunteers to assist with the ropes, harnesses, the crowds, and also potentially a few to answer questions and hand out promotional materials. In addition, we also need gear: especially figure-eights and jumars.

The event is held:
Friday Jan. 22, 2010, 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Saturday Jan. 23, 2010, 3:00pm - 5:30pm

If you wish to volunteer, or have any questions, please contact Ernst Bergmann at chair@alpineclub-edm.org.
